Cultural Mini-Grants: School Year 2017-18
West Virginia World Language teachers have the opportunity to obtain Cultural Mini-Grants to increase language and cultural proficiency in their classrooms, schools, and communities. Grants of up to $300 per school for a total of up to $3000 will be awarded by the West Virginia Foreign Language Teacher’s Association during the 2017-2018 school year. West Virginia World Language teachers of grades pre-K to adult are invited to apply. Funds will be awarded for cultural projects that lead to greater understanding of the diverse cultures of the world.
Applications will be accepted throughout the year. Applications will be reviewed on the 10th of each month until all funds have been allocated. Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis for approved projects until funds have been exhausted.
Recipients will be notified via an email from email@example.com. To receive funds in advance, direct bill, or be reimbursed for expenses and receive the grant monies, itemized receipts are required. If funds are need prior to the event, arrangements need to be made with the WVFLTA treasurer.
Previous recipients are invited to apply for grants during this cycle. Projects that have been previously funded may be funded again up to $300. Preference may be given to projects and schools that have not received funding.
Projects may be fully or partially funded by a grant with a maximum of $300 awarded per school per year.
Grants were not distributed for the 2016-2017 school year due to a lack of coordination by the organizer. Those who applied during that cycle will get first preference for this year’s awards. Please re-apply using this form if you applied in 2016-17 so we can review all applications together.
